Lisa Genova’s STILL ALICE has been chosen as one of 30 classic books to be given away at 2013 World Book Night U.S.

This year’s event will be held on April 23, 2013. 25,000 volunteers will be enlisted to give away 500,000 paperback books.

The program was organized in 2012 and aims to get “to get good books in the hands of people who are underserved”.Director Carl Lennertz calls the list of books chosen, “contemporary or classic books that appeal to a wide range of new readers. We looked for diversity and variety in all things: subject matter, age level, gender, as well as ethnic and geographic considerations”.
