Carey Jones and John McCarthy are the authors of Be Your Own Bartender. Jones also wrote Brooklyn Bartender, was managing editor of the James Beard Award–winning website Serious Eats, and has written about food and spirits for Food & Wine, Travel + Leisure, Vogue, and other publications. McCarthy, a mixologist and spirits writer, cowrote the Food & Wine “Liquor Cabinet Roulette” column with Carey Jones. He has appeared on Good Morning America, Today.com, and elsewhere, and The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and other publications have profiled him and his work. They live with their son in Sonoma County, California.
